He was also angry by the time he had finished his hand-test. The night club had been paying around £150 every week on carpet shampooing over and above their normal cleaning bill. I then took him to the club stair ways and showed him what his real problem was.

His customers and bar staff were walking downstairs across spilt beer on a stone floor. These alcoholic drinks were then sticking to their shoes and when they reached the upstairs carpet the soles were sticky. I suggested a more absorbent entry mat at the top of the stairs before entry into the upstairs bars. He agreed we purchase a 12 foot entrance mat and within a few days the problem was solved. The mat needed to be around that length to ensure that each foot touched the new mat 2-3 times to be sure all the alcohol was removed.

 We also suggested a different cleaning system for the alcohol stairways. Two simple changes cut his night club cleaning bill by over £600 a month. Not only saving money but getting a better result.
